Pique’ (6.10)

Pique’ (6.10)

The word pique’ (pee-kay) is a French word meaning “pricked”. Even though to this day, it commonly refers to stones in the imperfect range, it was originally used for much higher clarity grades (perhaps VVS1-VS1). By today’s standards, these poorer clarity grades, assigned by dealers not using the GIA scale, fall into the eye-visible range, similar to the GIA “I1” and worse.
