Pinpoint (6.32)
A series of pinpoints, which are tiny included crystals, can also be mistaken for LDHs. Pinpoints can occur either in clusters or as scattered specks. They are most often white and can sometimes be identified under 10x by their geometric shape. Typically, pinpoints are graded in the VVS clarity categories, as they are so small that their three-dimensional crystal configuration cannot be detected under 10x. A larger crystal (which is the same inclusion type) would be identifiable by its visible shape under 10x magnification. A pinpoint will have the appearance of a two-dimensional spot about the size of a pin’s point.
