Girdle thickness can also be a problem in bezel-set diamonds since the perimeter of the diamond will be fully enclosed. Tilting the mounted diamond to reveal the girdle reflection can be very helpful, but caution is advised. This reflection is distorted by the refraction of the diamond. If you are making an offer on a diamond set in this fashion, it should be contingent on normal girdle thickness, along with color and clarity accuracy as agreed upon.
