From an H to a K? (10.06)
How could a “K” color look like an “H” in the mounting? Usually when using a comparison stone, you can come relatively close to an accurate color grade while the stone is mounted, but in the case of the 0.87, there were two obstacles working against the buyer. First the diamond was mounted in yellow gold with a bezel surrounding its entire perimeter. A yellow stone will often appear whiter when mounted in yellow gold. When an off-color stone is mounted in white gold or platinum, then the tint will usually stand out.
