Armed Robbers (19.18)
The most dangerous types of thieves are the armed robbers. Your cooperation will probably keep you alive since most of the time, they wear ski masks or disguises of some type and have no interest in pulling the trigger. Many times heroics get people killed in
these circumstances, so it’s best to try to stay calm during an armed robbery and cooperate fully, or just stay out of the way, remaining as non-threatening as possible. Some store owners feel it necessary to conceal weapons to use in the event of a robbery, but this author recommends non-confrontation. A shoot-out can potentially kill or injure passersby, in-store customers, and/or yourself. Even if a store owner manages to shoot
the robbers, they can still fi re off several rounds in an exchange.
