Selling is the second half of the diamond business equation unless you are planning on only collecting or stock-piling your purchases. To sell diamonds successfully, like buying, the dealer must have a good working knowledge of the product. This is not to say that a dealer with very little knowledge cannot sell. Like any other product, without proper representation, dissatisfied clientele will eventually come back to haunt you. Much of the time an unknowing customer buys from an unknowing dealer and everyone is happy. Wrong! This unknowing customer may, for some reason, get a second opinion, or perhaps take the ring in for additional work (elsewhere) and find out from a knowledgeable source that the purchase was misrepresented. It only causes heartache for the buyer and a headache for the seller.
